(2020) Strengthening Health System Capacity on Community Based care for Effective Depression Management in Thai Nguyen province, Vietnam

It is a 1-year project (started in March 2020) with Thai Nguyen Department of Health and Thai Nguyen Mental Health Hospital, Hanoi Medical University as key partners. BNVN aims to implement the Collaborative Stepped Care Model for Depression Management in 10 selected sites in Thai Nguyen province, for the general population with depression, the name of the project is: Strengthening Health System Capacity on Community Based care for Effective Depression Management in Thai Nguyen province, Vietnam. The expected results of the project are:

  • Strengthen the capacity of health staff and social support network at all level on community-based depression management 
  • Deliver mental health care services at the local existing primary health care system following the collaborative stepped care approach
  • Promote mental health and improve public awareness of mental health
  • Successfully advocate for holistic community depression care services to health leaders and policymakers.
